Chat markdown

Chat markdown

The easier your messages are to read, the better the chat experience for the customer. This is where chat markdown becomes important.

WhosOn supports markdown — a syntax that allows you to add formatting elements to plain text. Here's how it works:

• Markdown enables you to style your live chat messages quickly and easily

• Where markdown is detected, the WhosOn server will convert to styled HTML before sending

• For longer messages, you can use markdown to break down text and improve its readability

• For example, you can add headers, lists, inline HTML, and so on to your chat messages

• This is particularly useful for improving the layout and legibility of detailed canned responses
